Lovable alternatives

The best alternative depends on why you are leaving. For a lower bill with the backend still included, try Base44. For a mobile app, try Emergent. To see and control the code, use Replit. To stop paying a platform for the builder itself, Dyad is free, open source and runs on your computer.

If you can work in a code project, Claude Code and Cursor remove the platform entirely: you pay for the AI, and you choose your own hosting.

The shortlist

  1. 01No-code AI app builder with the backend included

    Base44

The closest like-for-like swap. Like Lovable, you build by chatting and never touch code, and the backend, database, login and user management are included on every plan. Starter is cheaper than Lovable Pro, and two-way GitHub sync exports the full source.

Free plan25 message credits and 100 integration credits a month, up to 5 apps
    Paid fromStarter $16/month billed yearly
Database, login, hostingBuilt in on all plans: backend, database, authentication and user management

  2. 02Cloud workspace with an AI agent that builds and hosts apps

    Replit

For people who outgrew a pure chat builder. Replit Agent builds inside a full workspace, so when the AI gets stuck you or a developer can open the files and fix things directly. You will need Core for Full build mode and to keep apps online.

Free planStarter: daily Agent credits up to a monthly cap, Lite build only, one published app that goes offline after 30 days
Paid fromCore $20/month ($18/month billed yearly)

    Bolt.new

A browser-based builder from StackBlitz with hosting and unlimited databases on every plan, including free. The free plan is measured in tokens (300K a day, 1M a month), which suits short daily sessions.

    Claude Code

Not a no-code builder but an AI coding agent. It reads and edits a real codebase from your terminal, IDE, desktop app or browser. Worth it if you are ready to own a normal code project and pick your own hosting; included with paid Claude plans.

Why people look for a Lovable alternative

Lovable is good at turning an idea into a working web app quickly. People usually start looking elsewhere for one of four reasons, and each points to a different replacement:

  • The credits run out. Lovable Free gives 5 build credits a day, up to 30 a month, and Pro starts at $25 a month. Long fix-and-retry sessions burn credits fast.
  • The monthly bill. If the app is a simple internal tool, a cheaper builder with the backend included may do the same job.
  • You need a phone app. Lovable builds web apps and websites. If your users expect an app on their phone, you need a builder that outputs mobile apps.
  • You want control of the code. Lovable says you own your code, but you still work inside its builder. Some projects reach the point where a developer needs a normal workspace.

Quick match: your reason, our pick

  • Cheaper, still no code, backend included: Base44 (Starter $16 a month billed yearly).
  • Mobile app: Emergent (web and mobile apps, Standard from $17 a month billed yearly).
  • See the code, keep the AI help: Replit (Core $20 a month, $18 billed yearly).
  • Free and local: Dyad (open source, bring your own API keys).
  • Full control, you can code: Claude Code or Cursor (both from $20 a month).

Moving a project off Lovable

Since Lovable states that you own your code, the safest move is to take the code with you rather than rebuild from scratch.

  1. Get a full copy of your project's code and keep it somewhere you control, such as your own GitHub account.
  2. List what the app depends on: user accounts, the database tables, file storage, payment or email services. Those are the parts that need a new home.
  3. If you move to a builder with its own backend (Base44, Bolt, Emergent), it is often faster to describe the app again and import your data than to port the old backend.
  4. If you move to a coding agent (Claude Code, Cursor) or Replit, open the exported code there and ask the agent to get it running locally first, then pick hosting.

Keep the old app live until the new one has your real data and has been used for a few days.

How we built this list

Every free plan, price and feature above was read from the vendor's own pricing page or documentation on the date shown at the top, and each source is linked at the bottom of the page. We left out tools whose official pages we could not check. This page does not include hands-on test scores yet; when we add them, they will be labeled and dated.

Questions people ask

What is the cheapest Lovable alternative?

Dyad is free and open source if you bring your own AI API keys. Among hosted builders with a backend included, Base44 Starter is $16 a month billed yearly, below Lovable Pro at $25 a month.

Is there a free Lovable alternative?

Dyad is a free, open-source desktop app. Base44, Bolt, Replit and Emergent all have free plans with limited credits or tokens; see each card above for the exact allowance.

Which Lovable alternative builds mobile apps?

Emergent builds both web and mobile apps from prompts. Claude Code and Cursor can work on mobile codebases too, but they expect you to manage a code project.

Can I move my Lovable project to another tool?

Yes. Lovable states that you own your code, so take a copy of it, note which services the app depends on, and either rebuild in a no-code builder or open the code in Replit, Claude Code or Cursor.
